'Step' 5 6 7 8


Hi y'all!

I went to my first step class in months. It felt like torture!! Fitness levels drop like flies, I barely made it through the warm up. How I survived the whole 50 mins is beyond my understanding. 

So what is step?

Step is a form of aerobic exercise which is distinguished by the use of an elevated step. From my understanding the step is used as a resistance (not weight of course). The height of the step increases or reduces the intensity of the exercise in my personal opinion. I am sticking with the minimum height as I am still learning the choreography of the class I take and also am a bit paranoid of falling on my face (doesn't really happen). 

The basic step is marching on and off the step. Other common moves include corner tap, knee curl, repeater tap etc. I love the music my instructor uses, it has a lot of beats and the rhythm is just awesome! 

My verdict - it is a fun cardiovascular workout. I will be returning to this class and have already booked myself for next week.
